Most of the users are repeatedly complaining about the subject of not getting the Login page of Netgear Router. For some, web URL might work (www.routerlogin.com or www.routerlogin.net) and for others, IP address might work as instructed within the manual or retail boxed package. It all depends on the settings of the computer on how it was configured to recognize the signals from the router attached. It may depends on the type of connection too like LAN or Ethernet Connection. However, know the basic settings and let your computer respond positively when you open the Netgear Wireless Router Login page.
What we’re doing?
Let me explain you the what we’re doing. Just check the picture below which we have prepared to explain you better.
When we power up the router by connecting it to PC via LAN or Ethernet cable, it will first route to the connected PC. To check this, user can ping the router using IP addresses 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If you receive packets then there is no issues to configure the Netgear Router. In case it fails, follow the steps explained below.
Also check: What is the Netgear Router Login IP Address?
Before letting you know the steps, just go through the above image once. When router sends a signal to the connected computer, it first searches for the default addresses. If this found an address, then sends the signal back to router say that “I have found a PC so please open the login page to configure”. Incase it fails, we need to tell the router or we need to give the IP address manually. This is the tutorial is all about.
Move 1: Open “Network and Sharing center”
Move 2: Select “Change Adapter Settings”
Move 3: Select the active connection (not the wireless) and select “Properties”
Move 4: Select “IPv4” and change the IP address as shown in below image
The main change we need here is default gateway. Every router will find this gateway address and will act accordingly. If you are using Static IP ISP provider like Comcast etc, do not forget to set it to automatically after configuring Wireless settings.
